“Just ask Carolyn Heppel, who regularly escapes Memphis with husband Scott, the Chief Financial Officer for a corporation that sells medical and industrial gasses, to their log home in southwestern Montana. “We try to go every two to four months,” Carolyn Says.
Beginning in the mid-1980s, the Heppels vacationed in Montana, spending most of their time at a guest ranch. After years of cross-country skiing, flyfishing, backpacking and participating in other mountain-based pursuits, the couple decided they wanted to build a house there.
In 1993, they Purchased 20 acres in a mountain valley north of Yellowstone National Park and decided they would build the house in another five to 10 years.”
