Diamonds in the Sky – Ski in Ski out Paradise

This 7,000-square-foot home is truly a gem. Set high in the mountains above Big Sky, this home is structurally engineered to function beautifully at 8,300 feet in elevation. Radiant heat, the highest quality windows, and even the logs themselves keep the home heated efficiently throughout the nearly nine months of winter.Careful attention was paid to make the expansive home look as cozy as it feels. The 16 to 18-inch Swedish cope logs with saddle notch corners give the home a traditional look; and the interior includes both log and non-log walls, offering the owners endless style options. The natural colors and rich palate of textures — granite, wood, slate and leather — lend the house even more warmth. A local artisan designed both the home’s lighting scheme and the accompanying fixtures, adding a richness to every room.
Though the form-follows-function kitchen won a regional design award, all of the rooms in this home — from the sun room to the bunk room, the game room to the media room — meet the owners’ needs perfectly. The master suite is its own private getaway, and the guest rooms are entirely inviting.

“We are pleased beyond our imagination with the end result!”
